(The) Mid Length
(The) Mid Length
(The) Mid Length, is a five-fin design, that rides with tones that are more consistent with modern high-performance shortboards.
Favors: Rail carves, high-angle turns, and barrel riding
Waves: 2-6 Feet
Build: Epoxy
(The) Mid Length has the look of a traditional “mid-length” surfboard, but with performance values and riding characteristics that are more consistent with modern shortboards.
It’s a mid-length… that actually surfs well!
The outline is somewhat full with a pushed apex, a long parallel-like mid-section, and a rounded pin tail.
The rocker begins with a moderate flip and medium-low entry, that blends to a long flat-ish primary, and finishes with a smooth transition out the tail.
The hull is nearly flat at the nose (slightly rolled rails), progresses into a long single concave, and finishes with a flat tail.
The rails are soft tapered and medium with a hard edge that extends from the tail to near the middle of the board.
The center of buoyancy and center of mass are balanced and slightly forward of the rocker apex.
