Overdrive
The Overdrive is a specialty tri-fin that’s designed for advanced level surfing in more challenging type conditions
Favors: Technical rail turns, barrel riding
Waves: 4-8 Feet
Build: Epoxy
The overdrive is optimized for shoulder to overhead surf, at moderate to higher speeds, and/or waves with a steeper face. It complements a committed level of surfing, where the conditions favor a board with enhanced controllability.
The Overdrive isn’t necessarily a step-up. It’s more like a performance board that fits the gap between shortboard and step-up.
The outline features a slightly narrower nose with a neutral apex and a blunt round tail that balances traction with maneuverability.
The rocker begins with a good flip and medium entry, blends to a shallow natural primary, and finishes with a smooth kick out the tail.
The hull begins with a slight roll, progresses into a modest single concave, and finishes with a suggestion of vee at the tail. A long but shallow double barrel concave is embedded within the single concave.
The rails are soft tapered and medium-low, with a slightly deeper tuck, and a hard edge that extends from the tail to the trailing edge of the front fins.
The distribution of foam is greatest under the chest area and tapers to a streamlined tail.
Tri-fin configuration, in your choice of Futures or FCS2 fin boxes.
